We had a bit of a hiatus from the blog and work a week ago because my parents and grandparents came to visit us and see Glacier National Park. We were joking that Allison and I basically ran an adult summer camp for them and looking back at all the pictures that seems pretty accurate.

Hiking – Hidden Lake and Grinnell Lake

Here at Nik and Allison’s Summer Fun Camp™, we pride ourselves at choosing activities that are fun for the whole family. For this week, we started our trip with a drive up the Going-to-the-Sun Road through the middle of Glacier National Park and capped it off with a hiking trip up to the Hidden Lake Overlook.

A few days later we did a beautiful hike out to the aquamarine waters of Grinnell Lake.

Float Trips – Middle Fork of the Flathead River

At Nik and Allison’s Summer Fun Camp™, we want to get you on the water! For this week we started with a Class I rafting/floating trip on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River between West Glacier and the Blankenship Bridge.

You can relax while expert guide Nik does all the work! Sit back and enjoy some of the clearest river water in the country.

We got particularly lucky on this trip and were able to check off all of the largest animals in the area. We saw:

Water Skiing and Tubing – Flathead Lake

The capstone of this trip included a speedboat rental on Flathead Lake. We tried (sometimes successfully) to water ski and also did some tubing. The sights were fantastic, the drinks were cold and the company the best. 🙂

All joking aside, I’m so happy we got to see my family and spend a full week of vacation with them. It was really special to share a sliver of our RV life with them and have fun in and around the National Park. Love you guys! It’s so nice to spend time with friends and family when we get a chance, I hope we get to continue to see friendly faces as we continue our travels.
